Default 3 Zquest limit, let us see new quest before we abandon old one

I know this is probably never actually going to be fixed, but I find it kind of annoying that when you already have 3 zquests of a certain type, the dudes that give zquests won't tell you what the new one is unless you drop on of the other ones. Maybe some ppl always finish their quests on time, but I like to hold onto them sometimes, incase I get bored I got something to do, and when zquests are updated each day I can't see what the new one is unless I abandon one of my other ones, or go online to read about them, or ask ppl in chat, all of which are annoying. Idk, probably a very minor problem, and alot of ppl probably aren't annoyed by this, but I for one find it to be annoying, probably never going to get fixed tho.

Or you can follow the link and see the in game activates that has the updated zquests. No fix required.

I hate having to go and look up the day's ZQ before I decide to toss one. Would be a lot easier to just show what the quest is. Not too important, just a minor thing.

I just look at wiki, since it's normally already there, and if GW needs internet, so does your internet browser.

/notsigned

it's just being lazy :P

I wasn't aware that both my internet browser AND Guild Wars required the internet!

It is laziness, but as I stated, it is a minor inconvenience.

Been suggested before. It's pretty easy to look up on the wiki, but its not ALWAYS there when you look. But its also easy if you just ask other people in GToB. But still, doesn't hurt anything to have this.

The quest should be listed right there, so it's rather pointless to abandon a current one just to see it.

/signed again just because some people on these boards happen to be so negative.

/signed, it's annoying but not fatal. I usually just log into another character that doesn't have 3 quests already, so it's more an annoying time waster than anything. But you should at least be able to SEE what quest it is.

I really can say good and bad points for both sides.

Can't honestly sign. I can say it would be a nice addition not having to log on wiki , but I think anet can devote their resources to things more important to the game at the moment.

Logging on to Guild Wiki to check my "dailies" has been a relaxing recent morning ritual, almost as nice as getting my hot cup of tea every morning.

as useless as it would be /signed.

For a game function, there's nothing wrong with it, but whether I want ANet to spend time implementing it is another story. Assuming it'd only take a few mins, /signed, though if it'd take any meaningful amount of time, /notsigned due to the fact you could just ask someone.

Personally I always check Wiki's home page before I even log into Guild Wars, as it's right there. Then I know if it's even worth the hassle. Minor problem, and while it can be annoying that we're limited to 3, it doesn't bother me.

I would like it if there wasn't a limit on how many Zaishen quests/missions, etc. you can have though. Maybe your guild is going to do a Frostmaw run eventually but not the day it's announced so you want to hold on to it. If anything they should remove the limit of 3.

Whine whine whine. Why can't people accept that this game mechanic exists so that there's an element of surprise involved?

Sure it's a little bit inconvenient to go and look on a web page, but the fact that the new daily quest is supposed to be a surprise shouldn't really shock anyone.

The system functions the way it does so that in order to get you to play more of the daily quests you will actually go and complete the ones you have in your list. If you don't want the zaishen reward then just go and play your favourite missions/kill your favourite bosses/play your favourite pvp style to your heart's content.

The ONLY purpose of the zquest dailies is to get you to play a little more and reward you for it. If you don't want to pick up the prize til you're ready then that's fair enough but if you're only going to moan when the element of surprise encourages you to read the gaming equivalent of a newspaper then I don't think Anet should bother giving you the daily reward and you can go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.

Occasionally the wiki hasn't updated when the quests have and smartasses in the district tell you to use the wiki.

The game should work properly and indipendently from the Wiki or any other informative website. So, I agree you can easily find the answer somewhere else (by just asking to other players, for example), but that's no good reason for the game to lack some functionality.

The great thing about the wiki is you are permitted to update it yourself. If you don't want to drop a mish on your main, use another of your chars, find out the quest, update the wiki and let people know about it! Simple :-)

The game does work independently from the wiki. It works perfectly fine actually. The functionality was written to allow you to have 3 of each type of zaishen quest. How is that not functional? The limit was most likely put in place to encourage people to go and get the rewards. If you want to hold on to a quest for whatever reason, you risk missing out. The key word here being DAILY.

That's a deliberate element of the dailies. And at least in GW we get some variety in our daily quests. In other games the dailies are the same every day. No variation. And the great thing is, if you want to replay any particular mission, you can, any time you like.

Also, perhaps there was other technical reasons that a 3 quest limit was imposed. I think it's perfectly well written the way it is.

Before the idea of dailies in GW you were all moaning that there was nothing to do, and now that there is, you're moaning that you actually have to go and do it in order to get more stuff to do. Do you just want someone to put you on a morphine drip and give you a button? It's cheaper and more fun to play videogames than sit in a hospital bed.

Freedom of choice. Do the quests you want to do, as simple as that.

Read the thread again. You've missed the point.

The limit sure makes sense. The OP just want to be allowed to know which quest is being offered today when the limit has been reached already. Now you can't, to see what's being offered you have to give one mission up. This is the funcionality which is being delegated to the wiki.

Its been done this possibly because they can't do it another way.

Sure its a minor problem but actually getting Anet to deal with it over the other things that need fixing? Is it seriously worth the trouble? Our guild puts the days z-quests in the announcement so anyone in the guild can tell officer what they are or whatever.
You've got a whole alliance to ask.
You've got multiple characters to take them on.
If you aren't actually doing them after you take em you surely weren't that bothered about doing 1 of the 3 you have in the first place.

hate to sound all drunk and disorderly but the whole point of the DAILY quests is that you do them as close the the DAY theat the DAILY quest is released on. So why don't you read the OP and then try to get an understanding of the subject matter. The reason the zaishen quests are withheld is so that you either do or drop the quests you already have.

If you want to find out the quest then there are loads of ways but if you're just playing one character then you have to be willing to take a chance. Or get the quest done.

The purpose of dailies isn't to hoard them for the weekend or to have a way to suggest what's coming up next, it's to limit your time to within a few days of the daily being released or you miss out. key word as always in this conversation being daily, until anet says otherwise

You know, some people have private lives and probably end up with stuffed logbooks...

Just knowing what's next won't change a thing. You'll still have to give up one of the missions you've "hoarded for the weekend" to pick one more.

If it's all about them being daily, then I suggest the quests to be disabled if not completed within the day. Like that?
